On the edge of the New Forest is this beautiful Relais Chateaux hotel, open to non-residents for meals and afternoon tea. The lounge is decorated immaculately but comfortably, with tea available to enjoy on expansive couches or at pretty tables by the windows. Staff are warm and friendly and always close by without being intrusive. Afternoon tea includes both plain and raisin scones, traditional finger sandwiches and a generous selection of pastries, including blood orange macarons and lemon and green tea cupcakes. As well as a selection of loose leaf tea, espresso and cafetiere coffee, Chewton Glen offer a rich Valrhona hot chocolate to completely indulge. The beach is a pretty fifteen minute walk away to round the afternoon off perfectly.
